    @ahj4513
    of course they are, but i was criticizing clubs that make their students do exams for belts like white-yellow belt, orange or stuff like that :p

  • By BooHwal10thVocal, May 25, 2010 @ 3:39 pm

    @ahj4513 you should not be that ignorant. I hope you are not a instructor.

  • By bushidoartss, May 25, 2010 @ 3:42 pm

    @ahj4513 what about elbows knees clinch? condition?in muay thai training for each training you doing more then 500 kickes punches knees.forhard kind of pads bag,,, also hard sparing what tkd doing,,?few kick with screaming .bones are so strong, cant even be compared with tkd,,,

  • By ahj4513, May 25, 2010 @ 4:12 pm

    @bushidoartss The reason why TKD people lose a lot against freestyle matches against other martial artists is that TKD trainees are used to only using kicks and chest punches. Those who trained WTF TKD for a long time are used to Olympic style TKD sparring match. If TKD had allowed blocks, low kicks, and punches to the head; then TKD is at it’s full potential.

  • By ahj4513, May 25, 2010 @ 4:18 pm

    @bushidoartss I don’t think you would know that, since you are doing freestyle martial arts. Do you at least have a blackbelt in Taekwondo? WTF taekwondo has restricted punches to a minimal level ( only punches to the body is allowed), but it still has stronger kicks than freestyle m.a. because TKD focuses a lot on kicks. Now, TKD also has blocks that can be used in a freestyle match.

    @2009xellos 저 또한 그렇게 믿어왔기에 이종우 국기원 부원장의 고백을 읽었을때는 놀랐습니다. 한번 읽어보세요. 그리고 일본 또한 가라데의 창시자가 아니죠 가라데는 오키나와의 무술입니다.

    @ahj4513 well, Taekwondo is the modern version of Taekkyeon, a form of martial arts that was practiced as early as the Three Kingdom Era. I don’t know if Japan invented Karate during the period when they were “learning stuff” from Baekjae and Tang China.

    @OdysseusAres5500
    태(Tae) = feet AND the earth
    권(Kwon) = fist AND the sky
    도(Do) = discipline of mind or understanding.
    I hope that helped clarify your misunderstanding.

  • By ahj4513, May 25, 2010 @ 9:57 pm

    @ninjalooting86 nope… you don’t know TKD enough to say that, nor muay thai. Both are great M.A.s

  • By ahj4513, May 25, 2010 @ 10:38 pm

    @bushidoartss you think this way, so you don’t know Taekwondo. Also, you don’t know muay thai and jijutsu. In fact, you don’t know anything about martial arts. That is why you are making such ignorant comments saying Taekwondo is inferior to other martial arts. You gotta also know that a lot of physical structure of Taekwondo was copied from Karate; therefore, you are also saying Karate is just gymnastical compared to muay thai and jijutsu.

    @partypartylover yeah!!!

  • By ahj4513, May 25, 2010 @ 11:43 pm

    @DrFlox From what I’ve read and learned, Taekwondo is a copy of karate with Spirit of Korea embedded in it.

  • By ahj4513, May 26, 2010 @ 12:19 am

    @coffeebread20 maybe a cheap uniform?? mine doesn’t smell bad.

  • By ahj4513, May 26, 2010 @ 12:51 am

    @MegaPRETENDer13 taekwondo is about 70~80% imitation of karate, but karate copied the idea of using kicks in sparring from taekwondo. These two martial arts are closely related you see. No wonder why you like it

  • By coffeebread20, May 26, 2010 @ 12:53 am

    taekwondo uniform isn’t comfortable when you first wear it it felt like PJ’s. I got use to it after wearing it for a long long long long time! My uniform was so sweaty it was all wet i couldn’t put it in my bag it will make it smelly =[. and i got a bruise today .
