Steven Lopez, the taekwondo champion of the United States of America, has stated in New York recently that he will give it his all to win a Gold Medal for the United States in Olympic Taekwondo at the upcoming Olympic Games in London and do his bit in increasing the medals tally of the country.
According to the 33 year old American, who traces his roots back to the little region of Nicaragua, he has a lot of faith in the Almighty and has the support and backing of his family and he also has a lot of faith in his abilities and he is confident that he will be giving his 100% at the London Olympic Games.
While speaking at an event for children on the importance of eating healthy, Lopez recalled how his family had left their home in Nicaragua and came to the United States with nothing but a dream and how his parents always told him to chase his dreams. And the 33 year old believes that this faith that his family has shown in him will be integral to his success at the Olympic Games in Olympic Taekwondo.
He went on to add that his family is a prime motivation for him and he hopes that he will be able to become the best representative for the United States of America at the Olympic Games, to give something back to the country that has given so much to him and his family. He says his main isnpirations were Floyd Mayweather and UFC fighter Alistair Overeem.
Lopez was born in New York, but he grew up in the state of Texas, where he still lives with his brother jean, who trains the Olympic Taekwondo team of the country is looking forward to emulating his success at the Sydney Olympic Games in 2000 and has company in the form of his sister Diana in the team.
